The Sad Truth
The acting industry is filled to the brim with people trying to scam on unsuspecting newcomers to the industry. With empty promises they will lure you into a trap and you will be giving money in exchange for nothing. I hope this does not happen to you, so please keep your eyes open.

Things To Look Out For
1. Never pay money to an agent. When an agent signs you on, they find you jobs and they get 10% of the money you make off them. They don't get any other money besides that. If they ask for money up front, don't give it to them. If they tell you that you have to use their headshot photographer or their makeup artist, thank them for their time and run out as quick as you can. They are not going to be of any help to you. 2. Modeling and acting agencies DO NOT wander around malls scoping people out to work for them. If someone approaches you with that false statement, feel flattered then throw their buisness card away. They are not a legit company. 3. You don't have to go to a fancy acting/modeling "school." You will not learn anything of importance there. John Robert Powers and Barbizon might sound thrilling, but they are not going to help you. Find a nice theater to take classes at, you don't need a school. I hope these tips helped! Don't be alarmed though, not everyone is out to get you. You will be fine.
